This is an informational article.
RESOLUTION
You must add a registry key to correct this issue.
The key is located at : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell
- You will expand the ImmersiveShell node so you can see it’s sub-keys. If you do not have a sub-key named ‘Launcher‘, you will need to create it:
- Right-Click on ImmersiveShell, choose ‘NEW’, ‘KEY’, name it Launcher
Select the newly created Launcher key by clicking on it, then in the right pane, right-click, choose ‘NEW’, ‘DWORD (32-bit)’ and name this value Launcher_ShowPowerButtonOnStartScreen - Once the DWORD is created, double-click it and set the value to (1) to ENABLE the power shortcut and (0) to DISABLE it.
- Close the registry editor when done. You will need to reboot the computer for the changes to take effect.
DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE
Attached is the download to complete the above process, setting the value to (1) for ENABLE. Simply download the .REG file attached and run. A reboot is required for this change to take effect. Download .REG -> [ShowPower_81Metro]
