Avatars can be anything a person wants. Avatars can be human, vampire, animal, robots, zombie, Victorian or futuristic. Changes can be made to your avatar to make it look the way you want. Some people spend money to make their avatar look stunning. They add movements or AOs to their avatars. If that makes someone happy, I say go for it. I do not feel like spending money for an online avatar. I always look for the free items. Free items do exist but you have to search for them!
One of the things I like to do on Secondlife is explore other countries. Music artists will host a concert and you can sit your avatar in the audience and listen to their music. I have heard concerts from Ireland, England and Canada. Visiting the virtual art galleries or museums are always interesting. There is so much talent and SL is a great place for people to see and hear that talent.
Events
Secondlife will host a variety of events. People from around the world attended a community snowball fight held in a winter region. Events range in scavenger hunts, shopping to amusement parks. Events range from guest musicians, DJs and artists.
Secondlife should not be used to replace real life at all. A problem may exist if you cannot miss one day of being online. People need to make sure they experience real life. Virtual communities are not meant to replace your real life. SL responsibly!
