I think everyone should have to work for one year in the retail world.  Much like people have to serve in the military in other countries.  This would let everyone know what it is like to be in the retail business.  It may teach them respect and compassion.

A customer  yelled at me because we did not have a shirt they wanted.  We sold out of it and it was my fault.  She berated me and called me names.  I had to stand there and take it with a smile on my face and apologize to her!  I really wanted to tell her to shut up and leave.  If I had made a face or told her to stop talking to me that way, I would have lost my job.  How is this fair?

Shoppers need to think before they act.  Please remember that retail workers did not set out to ruin your shopping experience.  All workers deserve to be treated with respect.  Customers would be shocked to be spoken to in a rude manner.

This shopping season will bring the worst out in people.  They need someone to take their frustrations and stress out on and retail workers will be it.  People need to be kind to each other.  This is my advice to everyone; if you cannot be nice, stay home and shop online.   Online shopping will prevent you from having  to interact with any retail workers.
