Movie Life Review
The movie Life has made its way to theaters near you. Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ariyon Kakare, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rebecca Ferguson and Olga Dihovichnaya all play astronauts that take care of a sample returned from Mars. All the action takes place on the International Space Station (ISS). The action packed flick is worth a sit through. They examine what could happen if a sample from Mars is returned. I am sure that this movie will provoke several NASA nay-sayers into action.
The audience I sat with was positive about the movie and enjoyed the adventure. Ryan Reynolds gave a great performance that was short lived. All of the actors really did their homework to make the action as realistic as possible. The writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick also did their homework to provide a very realistic movie. When a sample does return from Mars or another planet, I am sure NASA has a plan upon a plan for things that may happen good or bad. I admire the fact that the writers did not dismiss the fact that astronauts understand and accept the risks of their job.
Where to Study?
It seems reasonable that a sample returned from Mars would be studied on a base on the Moon or ISS and not Earth. This is safety 101. But, when you think about it; we returned samples from the Moon to Earth without fully knowing if there were any harmful contaminants. Of course the idea would be to study samples directly on the planet in which they came, but we have not sent people to Mars yet, so they needed to bring the samples to the ISS.

Social Media is promoting the movie with great humor. Follow @LifeMovie on Twitter and you will understand. The movie will grab you and hold on. Once you see the movie, you will understand that last sentence. Check out what IMDB has to say about Life.
Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal have a great chemistry on screen and off, as the interviews show. One can just imagine what it was like for the other actors working along side these two class clowns!
Children were present in the audience. However, I would advise not take anyone under the age of 15 to see this movie. Children that were present seemed to be covering their eyes a lot. I bet I know where they will be sleeping tonight! Parents should sometimes use better judgment. Movies that are rated R simply mean: do not bring children! Adults, if you are looking for an action packed movie then check out Life.
